Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. As a young actress, she appeared in Broadway performances, she starred her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres on November 22nd. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust starring opposite Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original, the film is available on Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who brought us Hamilton directed the production. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the national security crisis. In two seasons, Ashford played a prominent role in CBS's hit series B Positive. Created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actor Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford now splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
