April Lockhart

April Lockhart, born in 1995 on the 4th of July, started taking piano and guitar lessons from age seven. The passion for songwriting was awakened. When April was 12, she composed her first single, Different. At 14 old, she devoted an enormous amount of time developing song ideas as well as perfecting the song. The following months, she began taking writing excursions together with her dad to LA in addition to NY. The month also saw her include different topics related to some of her peers who are dealing with issues such as bullying by peers and teenage suicide as depicted in the song"Take" my Hand. Lockhart is an influencer in the beauty and lifestyle industry with an ever-growing following. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia in partnership, and is also a lifestyle expert. Her disability is a part of her personality, but it's not all of the image. Lockhart does not deny that she has a disability in her posts on Instagram, however she doesn't make it the focus of the post. What message does it convey? The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our identities and physical selves are not all that they appear. Lockhart in a video message sent from her Nashville home, states that I do not want that to be a part of my character. I'm much far more than just my physical self. It doesn't affect my life. All is well and I have learned to adjust. The same is true for my life, and I think it should be discussed. Lockhart encourages us to keep moving forward with self-acceptance. Lockhart admits to having gone through phases where she felt uncomfortable in the way she dressed and displayed her arms. She wears whatever she wants and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she picks out on social platforms. It's a journey is what I don't know that will ever be the end about self-love. That's true of everyone regardless of their insecurity. I believe having friends with you who understand you and can see your feelings is crucial because they'll be the people who remind you What are you worrying about?
